How Focus Lane works

Focus Lane reads the address of tabs you open only to compare it with the block rules you create. When focus protection is on and an address matches a rule, Focus Lane closes that tab. This processing happens entirely inside your browser.

Storage

Your focus setting and block list are saved using Chrome’s synchronized extension storage. Google may synchronize these settings between browsers where you are signed into Chrome. The Focus Lane developer does not receive or access them.

First-install welcome page

On first install, Focus Lane opens the public Install Worthy welcome hub hosted on GitHub Pages. Loading that page makes a normal website request to GitHub Pages. The hub contains no analytics or tracking scripts and does not receive your focus state or block list. Substack is contacted only if you choose to open or subscribe to Install Worthy.
