Privacy Policy for QuietSense

QuietSense is designed to help users understand everyday sound levels in shared homes while keeping audio handling simple and privacy-conscious.
Information the app uses
- Microphone input: QuietSense uses microphone input on your device to estimate sound level. Raw audio is not saved, uploaded, or transcribed.
- Environment and activity choices: The app stores the space and activity you choose so it can remember your setup and show more useful guidance.
- Local reports: The app may store sound-level summaries, activity summaries, timing summaries, placement preferences, and adjustment settings on your device.
- Purchases: Subscription status is handled through Apple's StoreKit and App Store systems. QuietSense does not receive or store your payment card details.
What we do not collect
QuietSense does not require an account, does not use speech transcription, does not ask for location data for the core app experience, does not sell personal information, and does not use third-party advertising trackers.
How information is used
Information is used to provide monitoring, reports, placement guidance, tips, settings, and subscription access inside QuietSense.
Storage, retention, and deletion
Local reports and settings stay on your device until you delete reports in the app, change settings, or remove the app. Purchase records are managed by Apple. You can revoke microphone permission in iOS Settings at any time.
Third-party services
QuietSense uses Apple's App Store and StoreKit services for subscriptions. This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. These services may process data according to their own policies.
Important limitations
QuietSense is a sound awareness guide. It is not a certified sound meter, legal measurement tool, safety device, medical device, or mental health treatment.
